Introducing Marussia - Cool Car from Russia!

As cool sports cars go, the Marussia is up there with the coolest. Designed and developed in Russia by Marussia Motors, the first Russian manufacturer of the premium class vehicles. According to the data in November 2010, there are two versions of the Marussia cars; Marussia B1 and Marussia B2.

The Marussia is slated to use a 240-hp, 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine, most likely from Renault or Nissan, but it's unclear where the electric drive components will originate from. While much of the car's parts are expected to be sourced from established companies, approximately 35% of the content will be Russian.

Adding a bit of sizzle to its speed, the Marussia will also have "a host of gadgets," including a 4G Yota network with 10 Mbps data transfer rates at vehicle speeds of up to 120 km/h. Bluetooth, GPS and video screens all around, plus a 320 GB hard drive to round out the electronics.

The goal for the electric supercar is a 400km range, but Russian winters mean the batteries will need a boost. That's where nanotechnology comes in. Fomenko thinks the solution might be in a "nanotech project made at one of Russia's big construction bureaus."

The company foresees a 0-62 mph dash of around five seconds and a Tesla-like price tag of $100,000. Plans call for the first customer cars to be delivered next Fall, with race versions taking part in the 2010 edition of FIA GT championship.

Audi has once again teamed up with the creators of the original blockbuster Iron Man marketing its R8 Spyder in the sequel as the personal car of billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Of course, Audi is trying to make the best of its participation in the movie releasing a dedicated commercial as well as photos seen below from the world premiere of Iron Man 2, which took place on Monday in Los Angeles.

Audi Unveils R8 GT3

Bringing the new GT3, Audi class was made official as the car racing – Audi R8 GT3. Called by insiders R16, R8 GT3 will be available for customers since 2009, with the first races planned in the same year. According to the Audi version GT3’s R8 will develop 500 HP, will have a gearbox sport with six steps.

Audi has already managed to work some LEDs into a few of its cars (concepts and otherwise), but the automaker has gone all out with its latest Audi R8, which employs LEDs for seemingly every lighting function. That includes the 24-LED running lamps the R8 had before, along with some brand LED high and low beam headlights, and LED turn signals, which add up to some 54 LEDs in all. Of course, given the prices that single LED bulbs demand these days, it should come as no surprise that this is quite the pricey option, with it adding a full €3,590 (or about $5,560) to the R8's already lofty sticker price.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera

This super car is the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, and it's super cool!  561 horsepower from a perky 5.2-liter V10. The Superleggera also weighs just 2,954 pounds, 33 pounds less than a Porsche Boxster! After all, Superleggera means "light weight" in Italian and the weight savings mostly come from carbon fiber with the rest of the fat being trimmed off the lightweight aluminum wheels.


There's no denying it, as cool cars go, this is a cool car especially in screaming Lamborghini green. The massive aggressive Reventon-inspired front air intakes are great but check out the giant rear diffuser! Price has not been disclosed yetso we will update this once we have heard.
